He completed his internships at the University of Michigan for Orthotics and Boston Children’s for Prosthetics before working with Shriners in Salt Lake for 7 years and starting the Spokane Shriners O and P Department for another 8 years. He has spent some additional years at private clinics in the area.
”I love working with kids and parents, and adults that are looking for functional outcomes. I love making things that will keep up with use and abuse from kids, and get them to keep up with their friends and peers. Having 2 children of my own with some health issues requiring help from the Rehab field, I have a strong passion for making life everything it can be for every person that I encounter. For adults, I view devices that make life easier, lighter, and help people be more active as big wins.”
Having dealt with some of the hardest and most difficult patients from cancer to van ness rotationplasty, cranial synostosis and craniotomy, congenital insensitivity to pain, pediatric and adult scoliosis, and difficult upper extremity amputations including shoulder disarticulations and partial hands, Peter has seen nearly everything and can problem solve through most anything at this point.
Peter has been married to Lisa, his wonderful wife, since 2007. They have 4 children and love road tripping and car camping, hiking, biking, and exploring the wonders of the Pacific and Inland Northwest. His love language is sarcasm with a healthy side serving of funny, and he also loves coffee. Peter loves hiking, climbing, and mountaineering and has been to some amazing places, and is always looking for new beta for new areas to explore! His current objective is to scramble the tricontinental divide peak in Glacier NP… one of these days when he can escape from his children for a breather!
